Executive Director- Full Time
Survivor Empowerment Center (formerly known as The Women’s Center, Inc.) a feminist, not-for-profit organization serving domestic violence and sexual assault survivors is seeking an Executive Director who leads a management team, oversees programming in eight southern Illinois counties, and reports to the center’s board of directors. Responsibilities include: strategic planning, personnel supervision, program and fiscal oversight, fundraising, grant writing, public speaking and networking with local and state groups. Position projected start date is August 1, 2022.
- Requirements include Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum of 3 years experience. Master’s degree preferred. Must possess supervisory skills, knowledge of budgeting and financial planning; strong communications, public speaking and organizational skills. Flexible hours including some weekends and evenings. Must possess current driver’s license, insured vehicle and willingness to travel. Applicants with experience in program management and grant writing with previous training on sexual assault/domestic violence will be given priority.
Assistant Director- Full Time
Survivor Empowerment Center (formerly known as The Women’s Center, Inc.) a feminist, not-for-profit organization serving domestic violence and sexual assault survivors is seeking an Assistant Director who is a member of the management team and is responsible for ensuring compliance with all funding requirements; oversees all accounting issues; budget development and oversight; grant writing and reporting; works with external auditors for annual audits; and oversees overall operation of the center in the absence of the Executive Director.
- Requirements include two years of non-profit accounting experience and knowledge of Federal GATA grant requirements preferred. Must work flexible hours and be willing to travel locally. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Position starts July 1 and is full-time with benefits.
Domestic Violence Children's Counselor/ Advocate- Full Time
Responsible for the facilitation of a full program of recreational, social, emotional well-being, and education activities for children and for providing individual, family, and group therapy to child (approximately ages 4-18) survivors of domestic violence and non-offending family members and/or caretakers, within an eight county service area.
- Master’s degree in human services field required with previous experience in domestic violence or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have reliable transportation and complete required training. Position is 40 hours a week with benefits.
Crisis Worker- On Call
Responsible for handling calls to The Survivor Empowerment Center's Shelter program 24-hour hotline. Duties include determining eligibility, admitting walk-in clients, and conducting crisis intervention, in-person or by phone and facilitates the smooth operation of The Survivor Empowerment Center Shelter during work hours.
- Looking for an applicant with open availability who is willing to work holiday, weekend, evening, and occasional overnight shifts. If hired, the employee will be required to complete the 40-hour domestic violence training. Previous volunteer work or experience in social service preferred. Position is on-call.
Domestic Violence Residential Aide- Part Time
Responsible for maintaining the security and evening functions at the Shelter on the weekends. Provides direct service to victims of domestic violence as needed. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with preferably two or more years of college in a human service field or equivalent experience. Schedule is 3-11pm for 3 days a week Wednesday's, Saturday's and Sunday’s for a total of 24 hours a week. If hired, the employee will be required to complete the 40-hour domestic violence training.
